fancy sheets

i finally bit the bullet and bought myself fancy sheets. what are fancy sheets, you ask? fancy sheets are sheets that have a thread count greater than or equal to 400. (in my opinion…) the higher the better, of course. i got myself some 600 thread count sheets in egyptian cotton, which after intense research (aka google-ing it) i found that egyptian cotton is the softest, most durable and therefore the best. i, for the longest time, have wanted to upgrade though i have no real reason to other than being influenced by american consumerism, but never let myself take the plunge because i thought that i’d wait until i was married and had a california king-sized bed. but since that is taking longer than i would like, i decided that it was okay to have fancy sheets even though i am single, live alone and have only a full size bed. in pictures, cheap sheets look no different from fancy sheets. take a look.

can you tell which is which?  (the 200 thread count sheets are on the right, and the left is 1000 thread count.)  the true difference comes in actually feeling them.  when you go to bed bath and beyond you can feel their little sample sheets and that’s where they sucker you in.  but sitting here on my freshly made bad with my freshly washed fancy sheets, i can attest to you that there is a difference and it’s worth paying 2, 3 sometimes 4 times more for them.  and why not?  most of our lives are spent sleeping, (at least mine is…) so why not treat yourself to something nice since you’re spending a lot of time in bed anyway?  bottom line:  get fancy sheets, you’ll thank me after you feel the difference.
