Adult Birthday Party Games that all your guests will love!
Adult birthday party games don’t have to be board games (bored games!) or playing cards. There are plenty of game ideas that bring out the kid in many adults, and being adult has certain advantages that might even make the game playing fun. We are all old enough to drink, aren’t we!?
The adult birthday party games listed here are provided below for birthdays, but that doesn’t preclude you from using some of these games for any special gathering of your friends and family.
Game ideas:
- Charades. This adult birthday party game is a classic for a reason. In case you grew up in a cave, Charades is the game where players are split into two teams. Each team sends a player to the front of the room to pantomime a movie, tv show, or book. His team must try to guess what is being acted out in silence. The key is the mimer cannot talk and is limited in how much time s/he has to get his team to guess. This game is even more fun when there’s a “host” who has fun teasing the participants.
- How old were you when. Specific for adult birthday party games, this game is where the birthday person has a list of accomplishments and the guests must guess the age at which the individual accomplished each item on the list. Examples include: How old were you when…You had your first kiss, your first job, or your first baseball game.
- Guess how many breaths I need. One fun adult birthday party game is to put a birthday candle out with a LOT of candles and then ask the guests to see how many breaths it will take for the birthday person to blow them all out!
- Two truths and a lie. This is a birthday party game that doubles as an ice breaker. This is where everyone comes up with three statements about him or herself and the other guests need to guess which two are truths and which one is a lie. The more weird or crazy your statements, the more fun it is for the game participants.
- Have you ever? This a game where guests sit around a table and ask the question of “Have you ever…” If you have ever done what was asked, you must take a drink from your beverage of choice. Warning: This can be a surefire way to drink more than you should in one night, so be careful! The crazier the questions, the more entertaining it will be for the guests, such as “Have you ever been arrested?” Or “Have you ever been drunk in public?”
- Pass the Ball. This adult birthday party game can double as an ice-breaker as well. To play you line two teams up across from one another. There needs to be an even number on both teams. You then place a small ball under the chin of the first person who must then transfer it to the person next to him/her without the use of hands.
- Name that Tune. This adult birthday party game requires a “host” to play songs. The guests are divided into two teams and bet “points” on how many seconds it takes to name the song that is being played. The fewer the seconds required, the more points the team wins!
- Boat Race. This is a fun “drinking game” where the guests form two teams and line up across from one another. Each participant pours a small glass of beer. At the start of GO, each team member must finish his/her drink and place the empty glass – upside down – on his/her head! The team to finish wins!
- Wii tourney. Take advantage of the first video game system put together specifically for adults – the Nintendo Wii! We recommend you break guests into teams who can then play against each other in a round robin tournament style. Not only is it a great adult birthday party game, but it’s also great exercise!
